JULIA METZMACHER - Portraits of an incredible pianist

WHEN Julia approached me for a portrait session, she had a very clear idea in mind. She didn’t want just some regular “pianist photography” of her playing the piano in a random room, she wanted something that holds a special meaning for her. She used to dance when she was younger, ballet, and wanted to find a way to get this symbolic into the shot.

We went for an old ballet room in London and made use of the mirrors, the beautiful room and the ballet barre than surround the room as background for most of the shots.
